Bartenders Weekender scholarship

The number of scholarship places available to bartenders from across Australia to this year’s Bartenders’ Weekender has increased, but applications close soon, so get in now.

The Bartenders’ Weekender brings together drinks professionals from across Australia’s bar industry to discuss, learn and celebrate Australia’s bar industry. The Weekender will offer over 35 events across five days, with bartenders from across the country invited to Brisbane in June to discover the next big trends and more.

Taking place from Sunday, 18 June to Wednesday, 18 June the Bartenders’ Weekender offers interstate and international bar collaborations, industry tasting, panel discussions and events.

The Weekender is organised by industry figures Penny Sippe and Sam Bygrave and the pair have developed the Bartenders’ Scholarship to provide all access passes so the successful applicants will be able to experience the program.

Penny said the growth within the industry is a passion for her, and something she wants the Bartenders’ Weekender to champion.

“We have created a scholarship program and are looking for promising bartenders to bring to Brisbane and encourage the next generation of passionate industry professionals to become leaders in their home cities,” she said.

“This year we’ve upped the number of places available to eight and added an extra night of accommodation thanks to our partner, Monin.”

Bartenders from across Australia are invited to apply for the Bartenders’ Weekender scholarship program, which will encourage the next generation of passionate industry professionals to become leaders in their home cities.
