Orrsum Spirits has partnered with TipJar, the Australian hospitality relief fund to help raise funds to support the next generation of hospitality workers.
Tipjar is a social movement that supports hospitality in partnering with SmartMeals, and has the goal of raising $150,000 to go directly to social enterprises that focus on upskilling, training and mentoring the future crew of the industry.
With the hospitality workforce severly impacted by the pandemic, TipJar says it wants to make sure there are pathways for the next generation of chefs, kitchen hands and other vital venue staff trained and ready. In addition the fund also aims to provide vulnerable people with the tools to be job-ready and lift themselves out of the cycles of poverty and homelessness.
Geoff Hills, CEO, TipJar Fund & StreetSmart Australia, said: “Restaurants, cafes, bars and kitchens are such an integral part of the Australian culture.
“My experience over the years in gaining community support for very vulnerable people and communities, has largely been through the incredibly socially aware and dedicated operators and leaders from our luscious food and drinks hub.
“It is our turn to step up, stand for something good and ensure we do our best to protect and regrow Australian hospitality, through providing people from all backgrounds and circumstances, the opportunity to work and thrive in this sector.”
Orrsum Spirits are helping the fund raising effort by releasing a Single Barrel Bourbon, from Barrell Craft Spirits, which has been selected for TipJar.
Orrsum will be providing donation support from each of the 200 bottles sold, directly to the TipJar Fund. Giving a tip, no matter how big or small, will help provide a life-changing opportunity for disadvantaged and marginalised people around the country, while ensuring the strength and future of the Australian hospitality industry.
If there was ever a time to give a tip, it’s now to find more information about TipJar or donate directly online visit the TipJar website.
Bottles are now available here via Orrsum Spirits, with special pricing available for venues who use the whiskey in a feature cocktail on their menu – so order now and get involved.
