Everything about V Generacions, the 30-year-old, single barrel rum from Flor de Caña oozes quality and premium.
Coming from a super-premium brand with one of the largest aged rum reserves in the world and which was named as the World’s Best Rum Distillery by the International Rum Conference earlier this month, this is a rum to take notice of.
Released ahead of Flor de Caña’s 130th anniversary in 2020, the 30-year-old rum bottle features the signatures of the five family generations behind Flor de Caña, a bottle cap made from volcanic rock and a replica of the iconic 1902 volcano postal stamp of Nicaragua.
V Generaciones is a special tribute to the passion, dedication and commitment to excellence of the thousands of workers and the five family generations who’ve been part of the brand’s journey since 1890.
The rum was officially launched in Australia at Restaurant Hubert last week. The launch is the first for the rum in the Southern Hemisphere, and only the third global launch, having been previously launched in Miami and Milan.
In attendance at the event Don Carlos Pellas, Flor de Caña owner and Nicaragua’s first billionaire (the company has been in the family for five generations), Raul Zeledon (Global Brand Ambassador), Rob Scott (Brand Ambassador, South-East Asia), Merlin Jerebine (Brand Ambassador, Australia) and Pierre Pinault (Area Manager, Asia-Pacific).
Flor de Caña is proud to be one of the first global spirits to be sustainably sourced and Fair Trade-certified meaning the rum is produced in compliance with over 300 rigorous labor, social and environmental standards.
The sustainability practices begin with the raw material which comes from the only agro-industrial mill in the world to have the two top sustainability certifications: Bonsucro and Fair Trade. During the fermentation process, Flor de Caña captures and recycles all emissions of CO2, while also planting 50,000 trees annually to further help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, Flor de Caña rums are distilled using 100% renewable energy.
