MCA’s latest summer bar ‘Colour Fields’

Sydney’s Circular Quay will get a pop of colour when the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) opens its latest summer bar ‘Colour Fields’ in early November.

Inspired by the Sydney International Art Series exhibition Pipilotti Rist: Sip My Ocean running over the same time, MCA is collaborating with Scoundrel Projects, Future Classic, Work-Shop and Culinary Edge to bring the Colour Fields bar to life.

A vibrant menu has been crafted by Culinary Edge, the team behind MCA’s Graze Restaurant, with a carefully curated selection of cocktail classics with a contemporary twist and a range of smaller bites and boards designed for sharing.

To sweeten the deal, MCA and Future Classic are again teaming up for weekly Sunday sessions, featuring a range of local DJs to get the vibes flowing.

Colour Fields follows on from last year’s Cherry Blossom Bar presented alongside Tatsuo Miyajima: Connect with Everything in 2016 and the Gin Garden in conjunction with Grayson Perry: My Pretty Little Art Career in 2015.

“For our third summer pop-up, the MCA is collaborating with some of the best creative talent to produce something that’s bold, ambitious and inspired,” said MCA Director, Elizabeth Ann Macgregor OBE.

“After experiencing the vibrant projections and installations of the pioneering Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist, we hope visitors will enjoy a cool drink at Colour Fields and see Circular Quay in a different light.”

Colour Fields will run from 3 November to 18 February and will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 4pm.
