In less than two weeks, Sydney’s James Irvine will head to Mexico City to represent Australia in the Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition.
This year marks the 10th edition of Legacy, a major milestone in the evolution of one of the world’s biggest cocktail competitions. Hundreds of thousands are expected to tune in live to join over 200 guests at Mexico City’s Museo Numismatico Nacional on 1 May.
A panel of top talent from the drinks industry – including Alex Kratena, Ivy Mix, Shingo Gokan, Benjamin Padron and Carina Soto – will decide which of the 34 international competitors will take home the coveted trophy.
The global final will conclude five days in Mexico’s capital, in which Irvine and his competitors will attend workshops led by some of the industry’s finest, prior to two days of semi-final competition. Eight bartenders will then progress to the Global Final on 1 May.
