Women in Hospitality (WOHO) is launching a series of round table dinners as part of an initiative to connect like-minded women from all facets of the hospitality industry.
The series kicks off on 5 November, delving into the world of bartending and what it means to be a female bartender in Sydney. It will be held at Bloodwood in Newtown and hosted by co-owner Claire Van Vuuren.
Jemima MacDonald and Elle Charalamb, both bartenders at Earls Juke Joint, will share their personal experiences and key learnings from their push to create equality in the hospitality industry. They’ll both offer personal anecdotes and advice to help both those currently working as a bartender or wanting to pursue a career in bartending.
The ‘Bloodwood & Bartending’ event is $75 per person, including a banquet meal, beer and wine. The series continues on 21 November at Via Alta, exploring how recent changes in immigration laws will affect the industry at large.
