Proof Drinks Australia has partnered with Cavu Distilling to distribute Nil Desperandum Rum and Sunshine & Sons Gin nationwide.
The announcement comes as Nil Desperadum ‘Special’ is released, a two year old rum that has been certified as organic.
Managing Director at Proof Drinks Australia, Drew Doty said he was delighted by the deal.

Matt Hobson, Co-founder of Cavu, is similarly excited about the new distribution deal, and believes that Proof Drinks’ belief in high quality products can help the brands to reach new customers.

A rum affair
Cavu’s new rum Nil Desperandum in many ways resembles a Jamaican style rum. The spirit is made at Woombye in the Sunshine Coast with locally sourced molasses, which is wild fermented with dunder. Water is also drawn from nearby, before the spirit is distilled twice in a traditional pot still, and aged for two years in bourbon barrels in Queensland’s subtropical climate.
Nil Desperandum translates from the Latin as ‘No worries’, and is inspired by the inscription found on the first pub in Woombye, constructed in 1871. Hobson and Cavu hope to claim some of this easy-going feeling in their spirit.
