WA-based not-for-profit organisation Mix Haus has launched a new fundraising initiative in collaboration with renowned French brandy St-Rémy Signature. In an effort to champion women in the hospitality industry and support Mix Haus’s cause, St-Rémy Signature and its distributor Spirits Platform will donate a portion of sales throughout August and September to the organisation.
As part of the collaboration, each WA-based venue that registers for the new initiative will donate $1 per St-Rémy Signature cocktail sold to Mix Haus. Additionally, for each case of St-Rémy Signature purchased by the participating WA venues during this period, Spirits Platform will donate a further $50 to help amplify the organisation’s work.
Shirley Yeung, co-director of Mix Haus, spoke about the new partnership.
“We are thrilled to partner with St-Rémy Signature to help us raise much-needed funds to empower women in the hospitality industry. Providing more resources and knowledge for females is a trail that we are passionate about blazing – to have the support of such a prestigious brand gives our mission an incredible boost.”
“The idea for Mix Haus was born out of passion and the desire to grow in an industry that traditionally has lacked support for women. We want to showcase what WA can offer, and championing our incredible talent here is more important than ever, and the funds raised thanks to St-Rémy Signature will help us do that.”
Co-founded in 2021 by Perth-based hospitality industry veterans Shirley and Pippa Canavan, Mix Haus creates a safe and inclusive community that empowers women through education, training, networking and workshops.
Since launching, Mix Haus has supported women in hospitality through free workshops, training, events and scholarships that put female talent in the spotlight. Having raised over $15,000 for the cause, some of Mix Haus’s notable events and initiatives include female bar competitions, an annual Women in Wine masterclass co-hosted by highly regarded female sommeliers and the masterclass-come-story-sharing Mix Haus Sessions.
“We’re big fans of Mix Haus and their important work, now more than ever, it’s time for the industry to get together and shine a spotlight on the incredible local female talent in WA,” added Casey Gray, WA state sales manager at Spirits Platform. “Shirley and Pippa are true changemakers in the industry and it’s great to see so many WA venues getting behind this incredible initiative to help them achieve their goals.”
All funds raised through the partnership will go towards a Mix Haus Library, creating a place for women in the industry to borrow books for free and providing them with more education to thrive in the industry.
