Ahead of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 live reveal, the extended list of bars ranked 51-100 has been announced, with Australia’s Cantina OK! and Above Board landing spots at 96 and 100 respectively.

Designed to celebrate the hard work and innovation of the global bar community, the World’s 50 Best Bars will be revealed in Madrid on Tuesday 22 October, with the extended 51-100 list highlighting industry excellence on an even broader scale.

Emma Sleight, Head of Content for The World’s 50 Best Bars, says: “We are absolutely thrilled to once again spotlight more of the world’s most remarkable bars with the release of the eighth edition of the 51-100 list.

“This extended ranking gives us another incredible opportunity to celebrate the relentless dedication and unparalleled hospitality of the world’s best bars on an even greater scale and to welcome bars from even more destinations to the ranking.

“Today, we honour the bars that have worked tirelessly to demonstrate what it takes to be one of the best in the world. Our heartfelt congratulations go out to each of the exceptional teams whose bars have earned a place on this esteemed list,” she stated.

This year’s 51-100 list includes bars from 35 different cities globally, including 12 new entrants from Copenhagen, Dubai, Hiriketiya, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Madrid, Singapore and Toronto, and Sri Lanka’s first ever entrant, Smoke & Bitters in Hiriketiya.

While Sydney’s Cantina OK! and Melbourne’s Above Board made a triumphant return to the list, bars in the US dominated, with a total of seven bars included, closely followed by Mexico with five bars.

The news follows the announcement last week that Melbourne cocktail bar Caretaker’s Cottage claimed the Mitcher’s Art of Hospitality Award as part of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024, recognised for creating unrivalled and memorable hospitality experiences.
