The 2021 Patrón Perfectionists Margarita of the Year has been revealed after the tequila brand partnered with Difford’s Guide for a competition to celebrate International Margarita Day.
Former Patrón Perfectionists winners and finalists from around the world were invited to submit their take on the classic Margarita, which were then voted on via the Difford’s Guide website.
Italy’s Chiara Mascellaro, a finalist in 2019 took out the top spot for here Rosalia cocktail.
Chiara said: “I had fun in experimenting and creating my own signature Patrón Margarita. I loved being in touch with fellow Perfectionists all over the world and feeling part of this supportive community who share the same passion and dedication to the world of mixology.
“This challenge has been an opportunity to put my creativity to the test in a moment when our bartending community needs more inspiration and stimulus than ever.”

Recipe: Rosalia Margarita
Ingredients:
- 40ml Patrón Silver
- 20ml Allorino bay liquor
- 10ml Bay syrup
- 20ml Fresh lime juice
- 30ml Aquafaba
- Basil leaves
- Ionised salt
Directions:
- To prepare bay syrup combine 500g of white powdered sugar, 250g of drinking water and 20 dried bay leaves in a small pot and heat until the sugar is dissolved.
- Shake all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a glass with ice and garnish
