With its distillery closed, Starward has launched its Signature Homes Sessions in partnership with Melbourne Food and Wine.
The sessions are a four-part virtual video series, with prominent Melbourne chefs creating an array of delicious and mouth-watering recipes, to which ALIA Bartender of the Year Millie Tang is matching cocktail recipes.
The idea is that viewers can try to recreate the recipes and drinks from the comfort, and safety, of their own home. Signature Home Sessions are released every Wednesday across Starward and Melbourne Food and Wine social accounts for consumers to easily tune in from any location. Tang has also created eight super easy and tasty drinks including Starward’s infamous liquid gold to pair alongside each of the chef’s dishes.
Following three successful weeks with Shannon Martinez’s divine Kung Pao Tofu perfectly paired with Millie’s Starward Two-Fold and Agave Collins recipe, Nick Stanton’s chocolate and whisky tart balanced by Millie’s Starward Nova Honey Espresso Martini to match and most recently, Tom Sarafian’s Hummus and Spiced Lamb dish perfectly paired with the Two-Fold Mint Buck cocktail – this week’s session promises to bring just as much flavour and flare.
Starward’s Signature Home Sessions have had a great response from viewers and have also been a way for the Melbourne born and bred brand to give back to some of their closest friends, the inspiring and creative bartenders, chefs and hospitality workers.
Starward Whisky Brand Ambassador, Matty Follent said: “We started the Signature Home Sessions to keep the creativity of our incredible hospitality staff alight and alive. We have engaged numerous well-respected chefs from Melbourne to collaborate with us to create extraordinary taste explosions that anyone can try from home.
“While we know there are so many people struggling at this time, it’s important to support each other until we reach the other end.
“Following the Signature Home Sessions, Starward will also be purchasing numerous meals from each of the chef’s restaurants to be distributed to hospitality workers around Melbourne impacted by the current working conditions.
“Times are challenging, but we will all rise through this and we look forward to the day that we will be able to share a whisky with all of our hospitality friends and family together again.”
