The inaugural Shiraz Day is in 2020, launched by Mastermind Consulting, who were disappointed that the varietal didn’t have it’s own dedicated day, despite its popularity and heritage in Australia.
The Mastermind Consulting team has made available a series of downloadable Shiraz Day social media graphics to help venues leverage this new date and create some buzz around their Shiraz wines. To help increase awareness, use hashtag #shirazwineday to tag social media posts. Head to the Mastermind website for further information, including top tips for wineries on how best to leverage varietal days.
Indie Beer Day, a campaign organised by the Independent Brewers Association (IBA), is a day to celebrate the great local beer producers of Australia.
The day’s website – askforindiebeer.com.au – puts it best when it said: “Indie brewers are made up of all sorts of brewers around Australia; from husband and wife teams pouring pints for their local punters, to national breweries giving us choice on bottleshop shelves. They all have one thing in common: the love of great beer. That’s why this year, Indie Beer Day is the perfect cause for celebration – celebrating the resilience of brewers around the country, and with restrictions easing, celebrating a chance to drink and toast together.”
The day culminates in an Australia wide Indie Beer toast at 7pm AEST. Register your venue to be part of the day, or find more info here.

From traditional styles, to funky flavours, to native botanicals, there’s something for everyone in Australian craft gin. We’d drink to that!
