Think Spirits has announced that European producer, distributor and retailer, Amber Beverage Group (ABG), will be buying a majority share in the company.
Think Spirits, founded by Patrick Borg in 2004, is one of Australia’s largest independent spirits distributors and it is expected that ABG’s acquisition will be completed by the end of next month.
In announcing the purchase, ABG said that Borg will remain in the business with the rest of his team and that it is not expecting any operational changes to take place.
“We are very excited to have Patrick and his exceptional team at Think Spirits join ABG. I am certain that the addition of Think Spirits will enable us to accelerate our drive to build a global platform for our brands,” said Seymour Ferreira, CEO ABG.
Borg added: “Our companies share similar values and we believe the partnership will give us access to other brands within the group, allowing us to further strengthen our portfolio and teams for the benefit of both existing and new brand owners.”
ABG operates internationally from its head office in Luxembourg and through its production and distribution companies in Russia, Mexico, UK and the Baltics. ABG is a leading producer, distributor, logistics provider and retailer of alcoholic beverages.
