The 66th edition of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) opened last week with a world premiere gala screening of Greg McLean’s new film Jungle starring Daniel Radcliffe – and for the second year, Grey Goose were event partners.
Over opening night, Grey Goose served over 600 cocktails to VIP guests from the Australian film industry.
MIFF guests were welcomed onto the blue carpet as they sipped the iconic Grey Goose Le Fizz – made with Grey Goose Vodka, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, fresh lime juice and chilled soda water – which is served at the top awards season parties and enjoyed by celebrities at events such as the Oscars and Toronto Film Festival.
2017 marks the second-year MIFF has partnered with Grey Goose to curate a luxury experience at the Plaza Ballroom for the Opening Night Gala.
The night before, Grey Goose also held a ‘Vive Le Martini’ Dinner at the Waiting Room at The Crown, where guests were taken on a culinary tour learning the history of the Grey Goose Martini, led by Grey Goose Ambassador Andy Wren – pictured above with event ambassador Tahyna McManus
Attendees – including Yossi Ghinsberg, Author of Jungle and the opening night film – were educated about the inception of the iconic cocktail while enjoying five courses paired with a drinks list that included the Martinez, Gypsy Queen, the Martini and the Espresso Martini.
“Grey Goose celebrates the achievements of the screen industry and is proud to be partnering with the Melbourne International Film Festival for a second year,” said Wren. “The festival attracts the best filmmaking talent and we’re delighted to honour those who strive to truly fly beyond.”
The Melbourne International Film Festival runs until 20 August.
