“Like you, we’ve been left utterly devastated by the horrific bushfires that have strangled Australia for the past three months.”
These are words from Tom Baker, Managing Founder of Mr Black Spirits, and part of widely shared posts on social media. Such a feeling is being felt across the whole industry and the world itself, as we all look for ways we can help those impacted in this crisis.
Mr Black have helped already by supporting events around the world to raise money for relief funds. They then set themselves a new goal, aiming to raise $10,000 through the sales of a limited edition bottle.
In a matter of days, however, they smashed this goal, with last announcement having the amount listed as $37,000 and counting.
The release of the Mr Black Bushfire Relief Limited Edition bottle is in collaboration with Young Jerks creative studio, who helped design a special label featuring a koala. The adorable design is in line with the fact that the funds raised will go to WIRES, a service working tirelessly to help animals impacted by the bushfires.
The 700ml bottles of 25 per cent ABV cold brew coffee liqueur are priced at $100 with free shipping, and “every dollar and every cent” (100 per cent of each sale) donated.
Baker thanked the support of Young Jerks, Peter White and the team at Multi-Colour Labels in Adelaide and Visual State for making the project a reality.
He also said: “Our heartfelt thanks go out to the thousands of you in the RFS and emergency services for our tireless work to protect life, community and the environment from the impact of the fires. You are heroes.” The special edition bottles are available here.
