Over the winter months, some of Sydney’s most well-known bars are going to take over Iceberg’s Dining Room and Bar to celebrate its 20th anniversary with the Winter Sundays program.
Taking its name from the local Bondi Beach ocean pool and winter swim club, winter has always been important to Icebergs. Owned by seasoned restaurateur Maurice Terzini, the venue underwent a major renovation last year. The renovation sought to enhance the night-time atmosphere at Icebergs, which will be highlighted during the 4pm to 9pm Winter Sundays program.
The first Winter Sundays pop up will be the 1970s disco styling of the CBD’s Double Deuce Lounge this Sunday 9 July. Double Deuce Lounge will be bringing its own menu, including the Discretionary, which combines Calle 23 Anejo Tequila, cold brew, maple syrup, bitters, and whey. Tunes will be provided by friend of Icebergs, Dolso, who will be staffing the DJ decks.
One Sydney’s best known cocktail bars, Maybe Sammy will travel from the Rocks to Bondi for its pop up on Sunday 6 August, in partnership with Patron tequila. Sunday 27 August will see the Inner West’s speakeasy Earl’s Juke Joint at Icebergs, and Winter Sundays will cap off with Darlinghurst’s Nashville-style honkytonk Shady Pines Saloon on Sunday 3 September.
