Long-serving local Glebe bar The Little Guy has opened a miniature karaoke room, Poppies Karaoke, dubbed by the venue as Sydney’s littlest karaoke bar.

Hidden away at the back of the venue, Poppies Karaoke holds up to 15 people and is available to book for 50-minute, two hour, and seven hour sessions. Taking up residence on Glebe Point Road, the team at The Little Guy opened the new addition to the venue on Monday 25 September.

Owner Dynn Szmulewicz, who also co-owns Sydney’s Sunshine Inn and Enmore Country Club, shared his excitement about bringing Glebe a karaoke venue.

“We’ve got good tunes, a beautiful beer garden right on your doorstep, a pool room upstairs, great drinks and free popcorn. What else can you add to that? Karaoke. That’s what you can add to that.

“Karaoke is just a lot of fun isn’t it, the worse you sing the better it is. It’s a laugh with your mates, and everybody loves a laugh. I also really enjoy belting out Panic! At The Disco tracks publicly.

“People have loved it. Lots of classics have been belted out – a few too many Mr Brightside selections but can you blame people?”

Bringing everybody’s favourite tracks to their fingertips, Poppies Karaoke is fully serviced with all of The Little Guy’s bar classics, including free popcorn, and Poppie’s Punch for groups looking to get the party started.

“It is the first karaoke room in Glebe,” says Creative Director Zachory Gobolt. “We’ve spared no expenses. Think LED’s, neons and lasers.”

Poppies opens from 3pm until late, Tuesday through to Sunday.
