Takeaway sales licence to change in NSW

takeaway liquor small bar

The New South Wales Government has issued a reminder to small bars in the state that the current arrangements for takeaway liquor sales and home delivers will end on Friday, 28 February 2025.

The existing arrangements allow small bars to sell a limited amount of liquor for takeaway purposes, but that will be unlawful from 1 March 2025 without an authorisation.

From 1 March 2025, small bars wanting to sell takeaway or home delivery liquor (with the exception of small bars selling takeaway house-made cocktails) must have a Takeaway Sales Authorisation (TSA). For more information, including how to apply for TSA, including quality limits and conditions, visit NSW Liquor & Gaming’ Small Bar licence webpage or the On-premises licence webpage.
