The small distillery bringing festive flavours to your venue

The festive season is around the corner, and coming in the post-lockdown, new normal environment we find ourselves in, there’s every chance this season could be different to ones we have previously experienced.

Recently on Bars and Clubs we shared insights into consumer behaviours defining on-premise, with things like not deciding what they will drink until they arrive at a venue, on-premise being a place consumers like to experiment with drinks and ranging being an important aspect of choosing where to go.

So if consumers are looking to experiment and looking for something different, why not try the drink described as ‘Grandma’s home-made apple pie in a glass’? Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur is the brain-child of Philip Crossley and Alex Hardie, the friends behind exciting and innovative Sydney distillery, Mobius Distilling Co.

The liqueur is made from apples sourced at family-owner Bellevue Orchard in Victoria, with each 700ml bottle containing the pressed cold juice of 12 apples, all preservative and concentrate-free. The liqueur, which is already building a cult-like following, also contains vanilla and cinnamon, which give balance and a smooth, long finish.

Philip says the versatile drop is guaranteed to bring the festive cheer, “The Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur is so versatile and works well as a base for a cocktail, paired with a variety of other spirits and mixers.

“Our goal was to create a delicious drink that people can have some fun with. It’s perfect for festive entertaining and can be served neat, over ice, ice-cream or gently warmed for colder climbs.”

In addition to the apple pie liqueur, Mobius has just launched a new gin, The Company You Keep (TCYK) is a vegan Sydney Dry Gin, heavy on the juniper and with a hint of citrus that is produced in batches of 200.

The team describe is as a gin that’s “perfect for a get together, it’s a celebration of the moment – a reminder not to take life too seriously and enjoy every experience you share with the people who matter”.

So if you’re looking to hit key consumer trends this season, offer something different, let people experiment then Mobius is worth a look.
