In 2002, BarSol’s founders, Carlos Ferreyros (an agricultural entrepreneur in Peru) and Diego Loret de Mola (a USA business entrepreneur), embarked on a life-long journey to re-launch the pisco category around the world. They acquired Bodega San Isidro, one of the oldest distilleries in the Ica Valley in Peru to distil and bottle their now highly-awarded pisco.
The name BarSol was conceived to celebrate Diego and Carlos’ intentions to introduce every BAR in the world to the ultimate pisco produced under the SOL of Ica, Peru.
BarSol is produced from fresh wines fermented from pisco grapes from the Southern Valley of Ica. BarSol adheres to the classic pisco pot distillation method practiced in Peru since the 1500’s. Crafted in small batches and estate bottled, BarSol is distilled to bottle proof and neither water nor other ingredients are added to the sole grape juice that is fermented into a perfect wine before it is distilled, thereby creating an exceptional spirit of exquisite purity, clarity and smoothness.
BarSol Pisco Primero Quebranta is produced from the fermentation of 100% Quebranta grapes from the Southern Ica Valley in Peru. Highly awarded for its superior taste, BarSol Primero boasts subtle aromas and flavours of hay, banana, baker’s pastry and ripe dark berry fruit balanced with delicate citrus notes, apricot blossom with pecan and dark chocolate notes, that evolve into a seductively long and elegant finish.
