There’s less than two weeks to go until entries close for the 2018/19 Bacardi Legacy Australia Cocktail Competition, so you better get in quick.
Entries close on Monday 1 October, and with a record number of entries to date, the competition is stiffer than ever to secure a place in the coveted Top 30.
Now in its fifth chapter, BACARDÍ Legacy was established to challenge the best contemporary bartenders in the world to create their own cocktail Legacy – that will stand the test of time and ensure that both bartender and beverage are remembered like the illustrious classic cocktails of the past. Drinks such as the Daiquiri and the Mojito are now revered as classic and are as much part of the unique legacy of Don Facundo Bacardi Masso as the rum itself.
This year’s entrants will aim to follow in the footsteps of Alissa Gabriel, Andrew Bennett, Dave Kerr and this year’s Australian Legacy title-holder, Jimmy Irvine. The winner of the Australian Grand Final in 2018/19 will go on to represent him/herself and Australia at the BACARDÍ Legacy Global Final in Amsterdam.
With an impeccable record of reaching the top 8, Australian finalists have proven their skills to the international bartending community. Their incredible performances have gained them not only personal notoriety, but recognition of Australia as a significant contributor in the development of the bartending profession worldwide.
BACARDI Australia’s continuous commitment to supporting their competitors each year helps these aspiring bartenders forge their place in the Australian cocktail industry and develop the individuals’ entrepreneurial approach to their career. Keeping Don Facundo’s Legacy of quality, entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation alive.
Bartenders can access the entry form via the official ‘BACARDÍ Legacy’ website (www.bacardilegacy.com). Personal details, original Legacy cocktail recipe and photograph are required to register.
