A million Worksmith cocktails predicted to be poured this summer

Worksmith, which produces ready-to-serve bottled cocktails for the on-trade, is predicting a bumper busy season.

Worksmith describes itself as a ‘hospitality incubator’, and is a holistic consultant for the on-trade, doing everything from concept development, to HR and construction. Worksmith also  provides co-working spaces.

Based in Melbourne, Worksmith’s servies hospitality groups including Momento, and provides cocktails to Village Cinemas with white-label cocktails. Worksmith produces large format cocktails, which come in a range of formats, from 750ml, all the way up to 30 litres.

Worksmith Co-Founder, Roscoe Power, explained how the company is meeting a specific need in the hospitality industry.

“We were hearing a lot from non-traditional cocktail venues that they didn’t have the resources to serve the high-quality cocktails that their customers were demanding,” Roscoe said.

“We saw a great opportunity to create a solutions-based product, and Worksmith’s pre-batched cocktail business was born. The fact our service also includes training for staff is particularly desirable.”

Homegrown on offer at the Splash trade show

The company also produces Home Grown – a range of pre-batched cocktails that hero Australian spirits. These are currently on offer at venues including Hazel, Stomping Ground, Yarra Botanica, and Caretaker’s Cottage – with Three Blue Ducks Victoria venues joining at the end of October.

“By partnering with some of Australia’s best beverage brands, we’ve also created an exceptional premium product in a white space market. The opportunity for growth and development in that is huge,” Roscoe added.

The Worksmith team believes that more than a million of their pre-batched cocktails will be sold over the warmer months, assuming pours of between 125 and 150ml.

This figure would mark the crowning achievement of an organisation that has been in considerable growth over the past five years. Worksmith states that their cocktail training and advisory services have ‘delivered a 10-fold revenue increase in the first quarter of 2022.’

Moreover, the company has overseen the launch of the Melbourne Cocktail Festival, Stella Coffee, and the Tip Jar Fund, which raised more than $75,000 for hospitality workers during the lockdown era.
