Legendary London bar Dandelyan will land in Sydney next week for a two-night residency at Charlie Parker’s on 28 and 29 August.
Named World’s Best Cocktail Bar at the 2017 Spirted Awards and ranking second on the World’s 50 Best Bars 2017 list, Dandelyan’s James Wheeler and Will Meredith will work with Merivale’s Sam Egerton, Tim LaFerla and Mario la Pietra for two evenings of boundary-pushing mixology.
“We are super excited to host Dandelyan – it’s the biggest collaboration Charlie Parker’s has ever done, it goes so far beyond just Dandelyan just showing up and making their drinks in Charlie Parker’s,” explained Tim LaFerla, venue manager at Charlie Parker’s.
“It has been over six months in the making, with countless out of hours brainstorming sessions via Skype, WhatsApp, back and forth. All the drinks for our two days of events have been designed in tandem, and the result is something really special.”
When asked by BARS&clubs for a preview of the drinks list over the two evenings, LaFerla remained tight-lipped.
“We’ve taken some of the best Australian produce over the last six months and locked in the seasons through fermentation, pickling and distillation,” he said. “There’s also some unexpected twists and ingredients that maybe you wouldn’t expect.
“We’re keeping the drinks under wraps until the event, but think moss distillate, terroir filtrate, passionfruit and cacao butter whey, myrtle mead, [and] ironbark aged falernum.”
Both nights will feature two sittings (6pm and 8.30pm) with two ticket options available: two cocktails for $30 per person, or three cocktails and a selection of food by Danielle Alvarez of Fred’s, for $80 per person.
