Three Aussie bars feature in World’s Best 51-100 list

The World’s 50 Best Bars has announced the list of bars ranked from 51 to 100 for 2018, with Sydney bars Bulletin Place and The Baxter Inn and Melbourne’s Above Board each earning themselves a slot.

The 51-100 list showcases bars from 28 cities across 19 different countries and has been announced in advance of the annual World’s 50 Best Bars awards night – taking place on 3 October in London.

Among the three Australian bars to make the 51-100 list for 2018, Above Board makes its debut at No.94, The Baxter Inn lands at No.78, and Bulletin Place (pictured above) climbs one position to No.75.

Overall, the USA leads with 12 bars (seven located in New York); Asia is represented by 13 bars across six countries; South and Central America by six bars across four countries, and the UK by five bars in London and Edinburgh.

19 new bars from around the world feature on the list. Among the 19 new bars, China’s Sober Company makes the highest debut, entering the list at No.51 to also claim the top ranking amongst Asia’s entries, ahead of Bangkok’s Quinary (No.54) and Hong Kong’s Lobster Bar (No.62), both previously honoured at the 2017 awards.

Other notable new entries include Presidente in Buenos Aires, Argentina (No.53) and The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok, Thailand (No.55).

“In anticipation of The World’s 50 Best Bars awards ceremony in London on 3rd October, we’re thrilled to share the 51-100 list,” said William Drew, Group Editor of The World’s 50 Best Bars.

“The list reflects emerging trends and talent in the artistry of bartending, and through it, we are excited to showcase new and exciting bar experiences.
